A method which maps a contemporary vision for healing the human body.

Rapkinesis is an original method for making people’s bodies work better. It works on all living bodies — sick or healthy, old or young, big or small. It always works. This method is the invention of a way of complexifying the bioenergetic structure that the body continually uses to organize and heal itself — in a process known as autopoesis.

Complexification of the guiding structural elements of the body creates an immediate energetic and informatic benefit. Through Rapkinesis, this somatic energy is rhythmically inscribed and distributed as new tonal quality through the networked systems of the body.

01. The body is logical.

That doesn’t mean rational but instead systemic and coherent. The body works with a type of non-conceptual intelligence. We call it somatologic. To understand a different type of rationality you need a different thinking — a type of somatic thinking — and this requires its own form of precise intuition. This is Rapkinesis.
“The body works with a type of non-conceptual intelligence. We call it somatologic.”
02. The body is expressive.
The body is the spontaneous expression of everything that is happening to it and that has ever happened to it. This creates a fundamental tension that is distributed throughout all its tissues and surfaces. Once a problem is in the body you cannot just pull it back out. It gets immediately coded-in, transformed, and finally is only recognizable in its new somatic expression — what we normally call signs and symptoms. If you can understand the language of the body’s form of expression you have the key to knowing exactly what to do to help it. This is Rapkinesis.
A sick body does not come along with an instruction manual. But that doesn’t mean that there isn’t anything helpful around to read.

03. The body is hologrammatical.

In a hologram any part to some degree conserves the qualities of the whole. That means the advantage of working on a body the right way is that when you fix one part the effect of the correction resonates through the different registers of the entire body. For this we need special tools to read and later re-write the body into correction. This is a basic body programming language called somatext.

In Rapkinesis, by understanding somatext and developing techniques according to its logic, we have a powerful and at the same time natural method for resolving the true functional blockages that lie at the core of chronic human pain and suffering.

And that’s the way a body wants you to help it help itself.

Do you want to learn Rapkinesis?

Rapkinesis is a method of working with bodies so they will work better. It is also a method for thinking about how bodies work. So Rapkinesis helps your thinking and your working.

Rapkinesis is a modular model for somatic thinking and praxis that can be used by different kinds of therapists to make their own way of working both illuminating and effective. No matter what may be your professional dedication, either a body responds to what you did to it or it doesn’t. Are you always sure which it is? Rapkinesis trains your eye and hand to create the serial corrections that give the greatest benefit with the least resistance. Then you will learn to perceive — including beyond the visual spectrum — how, in fact, you can make a body work better.

Would you like that tool in your toolbox?

This year the first trainings using Rapkinesis will be given. There will be one for professional body workers in progressive modules throughout the year, an adaptation of Rapkinesis for Pilates instructors, and finally a workshop in Rapkinesis for Yoga instructors. The details of each course will be elaborated shortly in the Journal section.

Check out upcoming events events in the Journal, Facebook or Twitter starting in June.

Estudio Ars Somaticum
Estudio Ars Somaticum is the name for the space where Rapkinesis is practiced in Spain. We are working with Rapkinesis in only two venues: Zaragoza and Barcelona.

Fragment toward a somatic ontology 1

The idea of the somaticum and its ontological relation with the somatic compensation. I wrote in the margin of the introduction to Adorno’s Hegel: Three Studies: «the somatic compensation as fold in the somaticum is a positivity – a spontaneous material condensation to pattern – to stabilize a part for the whole; but its formation is a determinate negation of…
